If your personal details or circumstances have changed since you submitted your visa application or your last grant of permission to stay in the UK, this quick guide will help you notify UKVI through the correct channels. Most changes can be made through your UKVI account or by filling in the relevant form.

Changes in circumstances for UK visa holders
If you have an eVisa which is linked to your UKVI account, you can login using your details to update any of the following information:
Change of legal name
Change of home address
Change of telephone number
Change of nationality
Change of facial appearance
Change of gender
If you are having difficulties with your UKVI account, you can contact UKVI by following the steps on its online tool.
Other types of changes in your circumstances must be sent to UKVI by completing a change of circumstances form online or by post. These changes include:
Criminal convictions
If your application is still pending and you are awaiting a trial or sentencing for an offence you have been convicted of, UKVI will normally put your application on hold until the outcome has been determined. This is always the case if the outcome would directly impact whether your application will be granted or refused. If you have already received permission to stay in the UK, you still need to notify UKVI if you receive a criminal conviction.
Representative's details
If you used a legal representative's details in your application, and they have since changed, you should notify UKVI of this change so the decision and any correspondence related to your case can be sent to the new representative. You will need to include photographic ID and a letter of authority signed within the last 3 months.
Family or dependants' details
Any changes to the personal details of your dependants should be communicated to UKVI. This includes changes to their legal name, nationality, passport details or address.
Breakdown in relationship
If the basis of your permission to stay in the UK is linked to your relationship with a British, settled, or migrant partner, you must inform UKVI if this relationship ends. This will normally lead to the curtailment of your permission, leaving you the option to leave the UK or make a new application.
