About Paul...

Paul is our Managing Director-Solicitor and is the driving force behind the development of Lace Law and the purely client focussed services we provide to our clients.

He specialises in Commercial Property, Commercial leases and Construction contracts and has in total, 30 years’ experience providing key business leaders and entrepreneurs with swift, client focussed legal solutions that are not only in line with your commercial business objectives, but are also designed to minimise risk based on a sound understanding of the real challenges you and your business may face both now and in the future. 

Paul offers the additional advantage of having worked for 10 years within a respected Construction company as in-house Solicitor which means that he possess wide-based experience gained within a commercial environment.  Here he was responsible for managing property acquisition and disposal, commercial contracts; share and asset sales and disposals; additionally he gained a wealth of experience with JCT contracts gained within projects such as a petrol station; convenience store; social housing sites and large commercial premises.

In his spare time, Paul has a particular interest in all motor sport, and the upkeep of a track car which can be seen on the Cadwell track from time to time!  Paul and his partner Jane, are both keen gym members and enjoy walking their dog Kiki throughout the Lincolnshire area.  Paul’s adventure into the game of football often takes him to Sunderland to watch his home team play, and often lose! Between Paul and his partner, they have four grown up children and Paul has two young grandchildren, which means that travel, socialising and theatre offers them a rare opportunity to relax!


About Luke...

Luke is our corporate and commercial solicitor and has extensive experience of advising businesses in relation to a wide variety of legal matters including company law matters, commercial contracts and agreements, business sales and acquisitions, corporate employment, corporate finance and commercial property.

Luke obtained his first degree, a BA Honours in Politics and Modern History in 2001.  After graduating he became a teacher, but despite missing the school holidays and ski trips he made the decision to change career path and transfer to law.  

Luke qualified as solicitor in 2009, having completed his training contract at a well-respected law firm in Newark, where he spent 7 years.

Luke joined Lace Law in January 2017 from his position as a partner and head of business law at a renowned firm in Mansfield where he spent 3 years developing their commercial section 

Luke has a considerable amount of commercial acumen and this enables him to provide his clients’ with solutions to their legal issues rather than just an unhelpful list of options.  Luke is passionate about adding value to the businesses that he assists.  He believes firmly in creating relationships and a level of service which mean that his clients view him as a trusted in-house lawyer and an extension of their business.  Luke’s ethos is to remove all of the complicated legal jargon and to provide clear and honest advice to his clients in plain English.

Outside of the office Luke is married with two young children - Dylan and Martha.  This tends to keep him rather busy, but in his spare time Luke is keen gym member (he goes at 5am in the morning must be mad!).  He is sports mad - cricket and rugby are his two favourites.  Too old and fragile to play rugby anymore he is an avid follower of the Welsh national team honouring his proud lineage.


Philip Armitage

About Philip...

Philip is both a Director and a Consultant Solicitor. He has over 25 year’s experience specialising in Employment and Dispute Resolution work. In 2005 he was appointed as a Deputy District Judge and is an accredited Commercial Mediator. He worked for two years at a large Nottingham Firm and gained valuable experience before returning to Newark as a Partner in a five partner firm where he remained for 14 years. In 2008 he took up an offer of partnership with a Lincoln based Firm and was responsible for heading up and successfully establishing a new office for them in Newark. In April 2016, Philip established his own business providing Legal Consultancy Services which he has since expanded to include Commercial Mediation. He also has a strong interest in work place mediation. Philip has been with Lace Law since day one working as a Consultant Solicitor and non executive director.

Philip offers extensive experience in dealing with Employment and Dispute Resolution cases and prides himself on providing his clients with flexible, accessible, cost effective support and advice.

In his spare time Philip enjoys running and has a life long passion for cars. He is an avid follower of Formula 1 motor sport and a huge fan of track days.


Jane Judd

About Jane...

Jane is Director and Company Secretary of Lace Law and is responsible for the strategic management of core business and practice management functions.  This new business and customer service focussed approach to legal practice management enables our team of Solicitors to focus 100% on providing a first class service to clients without the need to be involved with day to day business management issues such as finance, marketing and HR. 

Prior to assisting Paul with the development of Lace Law Limited; in 2012 Jane co-founded a start-up trading company linked to a Fire & Rescue Service.  This company, HFR Solutions CIC, quickly went on to become one of the most successful UK training and emergency response company’s linked to a fire and rescue service.   It holds major contracts with British Steel, a local airport and several major wind turbine companies and boasts a multi-million pound turnover; the company proudly returns its profits to the community in order to keep the residents of the locality safe from harm. 

Jane’s specific areas of responsibility in HFR Solutions CIC covered the implementation and strategic management of all core business support functions and her key successes were to project lead the acquisition of three major ISO certifications in management systems, Health and Safety and the Environment;  She was instrumental in the development of a bespoke CRM system designed to manage the full customer process which encompassed a full training delegate management system; additionally she provided the strategic HR management that assisted the company in growing from 3 employees to 70 in three years.

 

Jane also has 30 years’ career experience which included working for Santander Bank, Audi Volkswagen Group and Argos plc; all at their Milton Keynes based headquarters covering Recruitment, Marketing and Customer Service.   In 2006 she moved north, returning to her Lincolnshire homeland where she joined Humberside Fire & Rescue Service where she stayed for 9 years and began her journey into company formation and business management.    

In her spare time Jane supports her son with his automotive tints and wrapping business and has a passion for travel, theatre and socialising with friends and family.  She naturally shares a keen interest in all things car and motor sport related as her partner and both of her twin sons are very keen motor sport enthusiasts!


Jo Osgood

About Jo...

Our PA Jo is the vital link in the team and provides all us with the valuable support needed to enable Lace Law to provide a seamless service to our clients.   Her extensive experience within customer service enables her to appreciate the value of timely and efficient responses to client requests at all times.
 
Jo has 25 years’ experience in administrative and secretarial support gained within a customer focussed environment; her primary role was to provide essential support to the maintenance of equipment within a large national chain of retail stores dealing with equipment contracts, legal notices, quotations and budget planning and tracking. 
 
In her spare time Jo enjoys spending time with her family and loves to go cycling (in nice weather!).  She also enjoys reading and is involved with the PTA at her daughter’s school where she helps with organising various events.
